Last week at the clubhouse...

Last week we had a wonderful class in paper piecing, Sue, Joe, Katie, and Alma all did a great job and finished their 2 small pieces.  Here's the little house:

Can't you just see these with embellishments? Katie already started adding bushes and a chimney!  

Next week I plan to post pictures of the December projects. 

But for now, here's a picture of the Reversible Bowl Covers and Microwave Potato Bag. We'll make those on November 28 from 11am-2pm. 

That's the Saturday of Thanksgiving week. 

 You could go to the Women's Club sale and head straight for the Cedar Key RV Resort Clubhouse.  (They're about 1/4 mile apart.)for a fun day!

The women's club will have lunch and vendors. I got some really great plants last year and they are thriving. There are usually handmade gifts and yard sale items, too.

Cedar Key Jacket and Quilting at the Clubhouse

This will be a busy week at the Cedar Key RV Resort Clubhouse!  On Monday, November 16, from 10-12 we'll be "Quilting at the Clubhouse." Bring your projects, quilting or other needlework and join us for a nice time together.

Then, on Wednesday and Thursday, November 18 & 19, we'll make the Cedar Key Jacket. There are many looks for this jacket. Bring a sweatshirt one size larger than you usually wear and fabrics that inspire you. Method, a bit of thread painting, and a glitzy binding technique will be taught.
We'll work both days from 11-3. Class is $45.00.

Here's a picture of Christy and the beautiful mat carry case she made on Saturday!

It's always such fun to have Christy around.  She's a fabulous seamstress and will put this bag to good use.

Cedar Key RV Resort managers, Lesa and Joey, were our hosts, and we look forward to seeing them again on Tuesday, October 13, when we will make "Hexagons by Hand"!  Yes, sorry, I know it's a pun on my name!

Above you see some of the things you can do with hexagons.  A Google search will reveal a zillion more!

This is a great travel project, small and yet very rewarding.  With a tiny bit of fabric you can do so much.

Class is $15.00, Runs from 11-2 at the Cedar Key RV Resort.  Kits will be provided or you can bring your own fabrics.  Fat quarters in several contrasting colors are fine.

It's almost time for classes to start at the Cedar Key RV Resort again!  Mermaid Song Quilts has been asked to teach again, and I'll be there!

I was humbled by the joy on these women's faces.

One joyful thing I accomplished this summer was the design for the Row by Row Experience block given at the Salty Needle Quilt Shop here in Cedar Key.  Don't despair! If you can't get here for a copy, they'll be available for sale in November.  And there are even a couple of wall hangings available for sale.
